Pics: A Ton Style, and a whole lot of it. You've never seen anything quite like this before.
Gina is the mastermind behind the fashion-tabulous, poetic blog called, "Awed." Her photo album displays an array of original, creative collections which are sure to provide inspiration and motivation.
She ardently tests the boundaries of crochet with a conglomerate of updated generational styles, from early 1910's-esque high waistline, decorative boutique dresses to 1950's matching secretarial jacket and skirt combinations to modern reconstructed, abstract apparel. Interspliced amongst those are several designs featuring bold, afro-centric patterns. All of her designs showcase an attention to detail.
With a flaire for the unorthodox, Gina's styles are haute, haute, haute!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

What an amazing phone conversation I just had--hey, I'm still smiling from it! I spoke with a young, highly motivated, gifted crochet artisan named FUNMI!!!! Check her out @ FUNMI LUVS CROCHET
Beauty, brains & hooks--oh my! Beauty, brains & hooks, OH MY!!
BATH TUB TEST: It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time, and this should help get you started.
What do you think of that quote to the left?
I found it to be of a humbling experience...ya see, I am a nice person (perhaps too nice at times), but I rather
associate with the lowly than with folks so eager to use and abuse. Now, don't get me wrong, I will hustle--ya know it's hard out here for a pimpette, ha--but I won't hurt someone to one-up 'em. "Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle." Abraham Lincoln
Basically, do good and help folks, be humble and don't think of yourself more highly than you ought! Yet give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates...Ya better WORK IT GRYL!
Those are 2 of my models: Jeronique, rt, and Alexis on the left doing The Superman dance. I videotaped them at the end of a show I did on Oct. 20th in Sandy Springs. It was a charity for Breast Cancer Awareness, PINKFEST, sponsored by LaFemme Africaine Inc.
Models: Alexis, Jeronique, Cherish
I LOOOOVVVVEEEE my models!!!!!
Can't wait to get these pictures from this show...Maybe even a video--won't that be lovely?!
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person..
When someo
ne is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
"What other people do or say is their stuff; how we react is our stuff."
The Bible says that you should speak things that are not as though they
were, and that you must cast down imaginations and everything that exalts
itself against the knowledge of God. It also says that the power of life
and death is in the tongue. So, you can speak life or you can speak death.
I chose to speak life into my situation. I chose to use my imagination to
take me higher. Not just in this life but higher in Christ.

You have inspired me so much--your designs are wonderful! You are absolutely amazing! I have never seen crochet like what you do, and I have been around crochet a long time. My friend and I are thinking of putting on a show--she does makeup and of course I do crochet. I want to get out there just like you. You really inspired me--wonderful!"
